Children’s Village
The Peterborough Folk Festival is proud to present each and every year a terrific Children’s Activity Village -
Activities include face painting, workshops, a noise parade, the famous Solar Death Ray, and much more!
The Children’s Village is for kids and parents. Parents must supervise children in this area at all times. Don’t forget to drink lots of water, and wear hats and sunscreen!
The Children’s Village is open 12 noon – 5 pm.
The children’s village is an all ages activity space where children, youth and the young at heart can create, learn, listen and participate in a variety of activities. Everyone welcome!

Wii-Kendimiing ‘Nishinaabemowin Saswaansing
Wii-Kendimiing ‘Nishinaabemowin Saswaansing (The Art of Learning Language in the Little Nest) is a community run activity supported by Indigenous Performance Initiatives and the Ontario Arts Council. We are a playgroup for families with young children who come together each week to learn Anishinaabe language and culture through teachings, lessons, songs and games. We encourage Ojibwe speakers and interested families to join us each Sunday from 10-12 at the Gathering Space in Enweying-First Peoples’ House of Learning & Gzowski College, East Bank Trent U. To celebrate community we will be holding the nest in the children’s area as part of the Peterborough Folk Festival. We enjoyed our time with the festival-goers at Ode’min Giizis and look forward to meeting new people. For more info or to be in touch email nishsaswin@gmail.com. Kwaabminim ( See you-s!!)
