Children’s Village:

The Peterborough Folk Festival is proud to present each and every year a terrific Children’s Activity Village - Activities include face painting, workshops, a parade, the famous Solar Death Ray, and much more!
The Children’s Village is for kids and parents. Parents must supervise children in this area at all times. Don’t forget to drink lots of water, and wear hats and sunscreen!
The Children’s Village is open 12 noon – 5 pm.
The Children’s Village is an all ages activity space where children, youth and the young at heart can create, learn, listen and participate in a variety of activities.  Everyone welcome!
The Children’s Village always needs helpers, volunteers and new workshop leaders and ideas. If you are interested in being involved this year or next year, please come and say hi, add your contact info to the sign up sheet for next year, or contact Tina Bromley at tina@artbox.ca

12:00     Welcome to our village and help us decorate it for the day! Participate in our Children’s Village group mural.

12:30   Parachute Games Begin! Fun and Active for all ages.
1:00    Hula Hooping fun.
Grab a hoop and learn new hooping tricks with Bascia Baklinski’s Super Hoops
1:30    Kids Yoga
All Creatures Big and Small: Become a butterfly, turtle, lion or cobra in this Children’s Yoga Session with Carrie Moore
2:15    New Craft Centers open:

  • Design and make your own Duck Tape Purse or Wallet. A true adventure in duck taping. Not to be missed. Hosted by Jenna Lubsen
  • Creative t-shirt extravaganza-shirt remake and redesign with Nuala Paluck. A creative recycling experience. Bring a T-shirt or two to redo or refashion your new look!
  • Beany Ball Characters
2:30    Calling all children to come and “catch a star” an interactive game followed by
A free form circus performance with special guest Cubeball the Magical Jester
3:00   Relax and join us for a Musical Circle Time with Carrie Moore
3:30   Get your grooves,moves,voices,shakers or what ever you’ve got and meet us at the village as we get ready for our noise parade!
3:45   Kids Peterborough Folk Fest Parade Departs! Lead by Wash Board Hank through out the Festival grounds!
4:15    Rejoin us back in the Kids Village for a magical story that we are very pleased to present:
The Storyteller - A dramatic and interactive presentation for children concerning the story of our Earth With Samantha Mansfield
4:45    Last chance to play and create!
5:00   Collecting art work and saying Good-bye for another year
